Move-in and move-out cleaning for a cleaner transition

A detailed cleaning scope for empty or mostly empty homes, apartments, and condos before occupancy or after belongings are removed.

Two cleaners working in a visibly empty home during a move-out cleaning

Move-related cleaning

An empty property makes more surfaces accessible, but condition still determines the work

Move-related cleaning can address rooms and surfaces that are difficult to reach when a property is fully furnished. It is commonly requested before moving into a new home, after belongings have been removed, or when preparing a rental unit for the next occupant.

The quote should clarify whether the property will be empty, which appliances or cabinets are included, whether debris remains, and whether the requested date depends on movers, closing, leasing, or key handoff.

DFW Clean HQ

Move-cleaning priorities to define

The condition and turnover deadline should be described accurately so the scope can be planned.

Empty-room surfaces

Accessible surfaces, closets, baseboards, doors, and floors can be included according to the agreed checklist.

Kitchen and bathroom detail

Cabinet interiors, appliance interiors, fixtures, and other details require explicit inclusion in the quote.

Timing and access

Key access, utilities, movers, closing dates, and leasing deadlines should be coordinated.

Condition and debris

Cleaning does not automatically include junk removal, hauling, repairs, painting, or construction cleanup.

Scope of work

Move-in and move-out cleaning checklist

The most thorough clean we offer. It covers everything in a deep clean, and adds the cabinet interiors, closets and appliance interiors that only become reachable once a property is empty.

Detailed service planning

What to consider before scheduling move-in & move-out cleaning

Useful cleaning content should help a customer make a decision, understand the process, and request a more accurate quote.

Empty first, then clean

The single biggest factor in a successful move-out clean is whether the property is genuinely empty. Cleaning around remaining possessions defeats the purpose — the value is in reaching cabinet interiors, closet floors, and the space behind appliances, none of which is possible with belongings still in place.

Sequence the clean against your handover date

Move-out cleans are usually tied to a key handover, lease end, or closing date. Book as soon as the date is known, and tell us what it depends on. Utilities being switched off is the most common cause of a clean going wrong on the day — we need working water and power.

Know what your lease actually requires

Some leases and management agreements specify carpet cleaning or particular standards. Reading that clause before booking avoids paying for a service the lease did not require, or missing one it did. We can scope to a specific requirement if you share it.

Residential pricing

Frequently asked questions

Planning your cleaning service

What is included in a move-out cleaning?

A move-out clean assumes an empty property and covers everything a standard clean does, plus the areas only reachable once furniture is gone: inside cabinets and drawers, inside appliances where agreed, skirting boards, door frames, window sills, closet interiors, and full floor care throughout.

How much does move-out cleaning cost?

Quoted per property, driven by size, bathroom count, and the condition the previous occupant left behind. An empty unit in fair condition is straightforward; one with heavy kitchen grease or bathroom buildup takes considerably longer. Photographs make the quote much more accurate.

Will move-out cleaning get my deposit back?

We clean to a documented standard and can provide a record of what was completed, which is what most landlords and property managers want to see. We cannot guarantee a third party's decision — deposit outcomes also depend on damage, repairs, and lease terms outside a cleaner's control.

Should the property be empty before cleaning?

Yes, ideally completely. Move-out cleaning is priced and scheduled on the assumption of an empty unit. Remaining furniture and boxes block the surfaces the clean exists to reach, and usually mean a return visit or a revised price on the day.

Does move-out cleaning include carpet cleaning or junk removal?

No. Carpet extraction, junk hauling, repairs, painting, and construction debris removal are separate services and are excluded unless specifically quoted. We will tell you honestly if what you need is a different trade.
